Ten thousand years ago, a meteorite struck a hillside in the Languedoc mountains of southern France. Today, nestled within that ancient crater, our vines grow on mineral-rich schist soils surrounded by wild garrigue — thyme, fennel, and cistus scenting the air. Domaine du Météore is the only vineyard on Earth where wine is born from a meteorite crater.

Whether you choose a single vine, a full row, or two rows, every adoption includes a signed personal Certificate of Adoption, a personalised slate tag on your vine or row, a domaine corkscrew, a wine allocation from your own harvest, and a tasting at the domaine for two. Higher tiers add a private meeting with the winemaker, a place at the harvest, and a seat at the end-of-harvest party with the team.

Frequently asked questions
What does “Vintage 2027” mean?
Your adoption covers the 2027 growing season and harvest. You can follow your vine from bud break in spring, through the summer, to the harvest and the end-of-harvest celebration.
Can I choose my vine or row?
We’ll do our best to accommodate preferences — let us know when you adopt, or via the contact form above.
Is delivery available?
Your welcome gift box (certificate and domaine corkscrew) ships within 5 working days. Wines are to be collected from the domaine; delivery of your wine allocation may be possible subject to delivery fees and local taxes.
Can I adopt as a gift?
Yes — let us know at checkout or via the contact form and we can arrange the certificate in the recipient’s name.
Can someone accompany you?
The wine tasting and the picnic (where eligible) are for 2 people. Additional guests are welcome — €7 per person for the wine tasting and €20 per person for the picnic.
How do you get to the domaine?
We are 30 minutes from Béziers airport (Ryanair operates regular flights during the summer months) and about 1 hour 15 minutes from Montpellier or Carcassonne airports. The nearest train station is Béziers.
Is there anywhere you can recommend to stay?
There are several Airbnbs close to the domaine. A very comfortable 4-star hotel is Château Saint-Pierre de Serjac, about a 15-minute drive away.
How long does the adoption last?
Our Adopt a Vine calendar runs from 1 January to 31 December, for the vintage harvested in that year. Members are notified in November and can choose to renew their vines for the following year.
How accessible is the crater?
The crater is a 1 km walk from the domaine. Car access is possible but on an unpaved, very bumpy road — not recommended for hire cars.
What is the harvest lunch?
Eligible members join the working picnic lunch provided for the grape-pickers. It generally includes salad, a selection of local charcuterie and cheese, and local sourdough bread, accompanied by the domaine wines.
When can members book their domaine experiences?
Members are welcome to visit the domaine during opening hours anytime during their adoption year for a picnic and wine tasting (please provide at least 48 hours’ advance notice). The harvest season typically lasts between 2 and 4 weeks and runs from late August into September, depending on the maturity of the grapes and weather conditions. To ensure availability for exclusive Platinum experiences, such as your Private Meeting with the Winemaker or Blending Session, we recommend reserving your spot early around the winemaker’s schedule.
What happens at the wine tasting experience?
The tasting takes place in our comfortable air-conditioned caveau, where members are offered 3 different wines. We speak French and English.
What is the harvest party typically like?
The vendanges party takes place on the first Friday of September in the domaine courtyard. There’s a local band and a food truck serving local dishes, plus the full range of domaine wines to buy, and plenty of parking. It usually runs from 7 pm to 11 pm, and you’ll meet the pickers and their families as well as people from the village — around 100 people usually attend.

Is the membership refundable if the member is unwell?
Unfortunately we can’t refund a membership due to ill health or an inability to visit the domaine, but the member will still receive the newsletters, videos and wine allocation.
Are all the vines located in the crater?
The first 30 adopters take a vine or row within the crater itself. Once those are adopted, further vines are in the plots immediately next to the crater — whose soil still contains meteorite fragments.
