Opening Times
In 2022, Le Cratère at Domaine du Météore will be open from Friday 6th May. Reservations can be made for Fridays and Saturdays in May, and then Tuesday to Saturday from 31st May to the end of September. Please refer to our booking calendar to check available dates.
For bookings between 6th and 14th May, please note that due to the cooler evenings, these dinners will be served in our brand new caveau, not in the crater. We may decide to use the caveau for other evenings in May, if the team considers the weather too cold. We recommend that guests dress appropriately for the evenings in the crater.
We serve a unique 6-course menu starting with an aperitif and canapés at 6.30pm.
The Crater dining experience is available by reservation only.
Provisional Reservation and Confirmation of a Reservation
When you make a reservation at Le Cratère you are making an offer to the restaurant to accept your reservation. Your reservation is not complete and legally binding on the restaurant until such time as you have secured the reservation with a valid credit card and have received a confirmatory email from the restaurant accepting your booking.
Dietary Requirements and Allergies
Due to the small number of guests and our fixed menu, we are unable to offer any variations in our menu other than a vegetarian alternative to some courses. Please notify us at the time of booking prior to your visit whether you wish for a vegetarian option.
Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee that any of our dishes are free from any allergens and therefore cannot accept any liability in this respect. Guests with severe allergies are advised to assess their own level of risk and consume dishes at their own risk.
Amendments to your Booking
Should your details be incorrect on your confirmation email or require amendment, please advise the reservations team at your earliest convenience by email at reservations@domainedumeteore.com or by telephone on +33 467 902 112. If you do wish to amend your booking details, changes must be advised at least 48 hours in advance and are subject to availability. We will reconfirm with you if we can accommodate your changes.
Time of Booking
We offer an intimate dining experience with a fixed price set 6 course menu degustation. The dinner commences at 18.30 in the courtyard of the domaine for aperitifs and canapes. As such, we would respectfully ask that you attend at this time. Should you arrive after this the dinner may commence without you and you will need join in at the appropriate course.
Outdoor Seating
Dining takes place outdoors on long communal tables (3 x 8 persons).
Accessibility
The walk to the crater is downhill across uneven ground, and as such is unfortunately not suitable for people who have limited mobility or the use of a wheelchair or a walking-aid. We ask you to please wear suitable footwear for this event (no high heels) and also to bring along a suitable cover-up as it can become cooler after the setting of the sun. The journey to the crater is generally a 15 minute leisurely walk.
Credit Card Guarantee Reservations
We are a small independent restaurant offering a special dining and wine-pairing experience for a limited number of covers each night. We have just the one sitting and as such, our continued viability relies heavily on reservations being honoured by our guests or sufficient notice being given of any changes. Any no-shows can have a devastating impact on the commercial viability of the enterprise as well as resulting in wasted food and produce. Therefore, when making a reservation a credit card deposit of 30 Euros per person is required to secure the table. If Le Cratère confirms the reservation this booking is conditional on the Client supplying credit card details and the authority for charges to be deducted (including cancellation charges) on the payment terms outlined in the Cancellation Policy. If credit card details and payment authority is not given to Le Cratère by the Client then the reservation will not be valid.
All bookings require a non refundable deposit of 30.00 Euros per person to secure the table. The total deposit paid will be deducted from your final bill.
Your booking will be provisional until the deposits have been paid.
We require a minimum of 48 hours notice for a table cancellation. If we receive a cancellation within this notice period then, unfortunately, the deposit paid will be voided.
However, if we are able to resell your table we will be happy to refund the full amount.
Cancellation and No-Shows Policy
The restaurant’s continued viability relies on reservations being honoured by our customers, and adequate notice being given of any changes or cancellations. Should you need to cancel your reservation kindly contact our reservations team by email to reservations@domainedumeteore.com or by phone +33 4 67 90 21 12. Please remember that all reservations must be cancelled within 48 hours of the date specified to avoid any charges. The customer is deemed to have authorised the settling of all outstanding charges which can be processed by the Restaurant using any credit or debit card details held on file. If you fail to arrive for your reservation, or cancel, amend or reduce the amount of guests within 48 hours prior to your booking, your card will be charged the cost of 30 Euros per person.
Le Cratère reserves the right to cancel the planned dinner due to inclement weather.
As dining occurs outside, in the event of bad weather, we reserve the right to cancel the dinner experience. While we will endeavour to notify clients 24 hours before the intended booking, this may not always be possible due to the rapidity with which weather can change in our area.
If we are forced to cancel, we will give guests the option of rescheduling the reservation or a full refund of deposit paid.
Le Cratère reserves the right to amend any of these terms and conditions without notice.
